Translation

Sacred to the Spirits of the Dead, Lucius Licinius Fundanianus of Salacia, 70 years old, his wife Mummia Modestina made this for the most dutiful husband under the care of Pompeius(?) Albicianus of Salacia, here he lies, may the earth rest lightly upon you.

Commentary

There are two places known as Salacia in Iberia, one in Lusitania (Pl. 256414) and one in Tarraconensis (Pl. 236635). The larger and better-documented city, Salacia Imperatoria (Pl. 256414), has been selected as the most likely point of origin.
