Translation

To the spirits of the dead, to Lucius Aurelius Rufus, 26 years old, having been buried in Emerita, lies here. Aurelia Prisca put this up for the most dutiful son.

Commentary

The deceased here appears to have died and been buried in Emerita, and either his bones reburied in Conimbriga, or a cenotaph erected for him in Conimbriga. The place of origin of the deceased is not noted, but was probably Conimbriga, where he was commemorated by his mother.
