Translation

Marcus Persius Blaesus, son of Marcus, of the Pollia tribe, with his home at Hasta, soldier of the X legion Gemina of the century of Silo, 50 years old, 26 years of service, here he lies.

Commentary

There are numerous places called Hasta, but Haley (1991: 30) locates this particular Hasta in Liguria in Italy; this is followed here, but is not certain. Le Roux (1982: 122) argues that this individual is likely in Asturica for admin reasons and suggests recruitment in the Tiberian-Claudian period (1982: 324).
