Translation

Lucius Aemilius Rectus, son of Marcus, grandson of Marcus, of the Quirina tribe, with his home at Rome, and citizenship of Carthage, Sicily, Asso, Sparta, Argos, and Bastetanius, scribe of the quaestor, scribe of the aedile, citizen, having been elected to the honour of aedile, he ordered this work to be made in his will.

Commentary

Has his home at Rome, but also a citizen of Carthage, Sicily, Asso, Sparta, Argos, and Bastetanius (see also HEpOnl 9175; 12229). CIL II 5941 records that he was granted equestrian status by the emperor Hadrian (117-138). For more on this inscription, see Le Gall 1983.
